Moving Downstairs at The Bravern
Share
While we loved our first store at The Bravern, after nine years essentially on our own up on the third floor, we decided to join our neighbors on the second floor. The landlord was rethinking the project and wanted to convert most of the third floor to office space, and we were thwarting their plan by sitting right in the middle of it. We were "encouraged" to relocate. After considering a number of options in downtown Bellevue and negotiating a great deal to build what we thought was a perfect store elsewhere, we decided at the last minute to stay at The Bravern and take a spot on the main floor adjacent to Neiman Marcus, Gucci, and Omega. A "smaller house, but in a better neighborhood."
In eight weeks we took what had been Tory Burch's original Bravern store, reimagined it and created the bright, mirrored jewel box we occupy today. We replaced the big heavy orange doors with floor to ceiling glass, introduced the kinetic LED chandelier, stripped away all the "cozy" TB touches and used fixtures made of glass, chrome and mirrors. Unrecognizable as its former self and very David Lawrence.
